Macca’s Is Now Doing Onion Rings & I Fully Expect Ronald McDonald To Propose To Me With One

Macca’s has finally put onion rings on its menu, and it’s about bloody time.

Eye-wateringly good Aussie onions are dipped in batter and fried until you get that supple crunch with each bite, blah, blah, blah… you get the idea. They’re onion rings and they’re delicious.

They’ll be sold with Southern BBQ sauce to dip, but if you’re keen to give them a try you’ll need to get in quick.

That’s because the onion rings will only be available for the next month or so. Until February 16, to be exact.

According to the McDonald’s Wiki (yes, that’s a thing) onion rings have been or are still being served up at Macca’s restaurants in the UK, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Now it’s our turn.

“For the first time ever, we’ll be serving-up golden onion rings at restaurants across the country,” McDonald’s Australian marketing manager Amanda Nakad said in a statement.

And it’s not just a bag of crunchy, crunchy rings you can cop, either.

Onion rings will also be available inside the McOz, now dubbed the Crispy BBQ McOz, plus a whole new burger.

“Our onion rings will also be served on the all-new Aussie Angus burger, combined with 100% Australian Angus beef and bacon as well as cheese to create a delicious burger we know our customers will enjoy,” Nakad said.

The new Aussie Angus burger, true to its name, also comes with a slice of beetroot.

Alternatively, I guess you could just buy whatever burger you want, perhaps even a delicious Filet-O-Fish, and whack the battered onions on yourself. It’s a free country.

The new menu addition sounds pretty good already, but we’ll have to wait for onion ring connoisseur fanatic Lorde to give us the full review.

Oh and FYI, if you end up getting hooked on these bad boys, just remember that Hungry Jack’s has onion rings as a permanent menu item. The more ya know.
