‘There’s A Body In The Water’: Aussie Punter Recounts EDM Boat Party Horror

As you may have read earlier, a woman has gone over the side of a EDM cruise boat festival the Mad Decent Boat Party, which is currently 35km off the coast of Cuba
Acts including Alison Wonderland, Diplo, Skrillex, Major Lazer, Martin Solveig, MØ were due to perform over the course of the five-day event, but the event is currently at a stand-still, with punters saying the vibe on the boat is ‘eerie’.
While rumours are flying around about whether the woman jumped or was pushed, nothing has been confirmed, nor is there a statement out from the company itself yet. A major search and rescue is currently underway.

P.TV spoke to a punter who is on board the boat as we speak, and prefers to remain unnamed:

“I was dancing at the front of the boat, and a girl started yelling that she could see a body in the water, face down. To be honest, everyone thought the girl was tripping at first, but two guys ran over to her and started screaming that they could see the body too.”

“Everyone started running over to see, and I said to my friends that I couldn’t really handle it, and I wanted to go back to our room. So we did, and while we were walking through a corridor, we saw a bunch of people standing around, and in the middle there was a guy slumped on the ground, howling with tears. We spoke to a girl there who said that she didn’t see the girl go over the edge, but she saw the girl falling, and her palms were straight down… like she dived. The guy crying was her husband, and apparently they’d gotten married on this boat last year.”

“No one knows what happened. It was just them two in the room. There’s rumours, but nobody knows.”

“She went over at about 7pm, and it’s 11:13 now. She still hasn’t been found. There’s search boats and helicopters trying to find her right now. It took the boats ages to go out, like close to an hour.”

“It’s really eerie at the moment. None of the stages are going and there’s no music playing. No one knows what to do. We’ve been assured that the boat’s going to keep going, but we don’t know…”
We will update this story as more details are released.
