With every little glimpse into the hyper-realistic, almost noir-ish world of Fox‘s upcoming before-there-was-Batman series Gotham, the ole’ keenness meter rises just that little bit higher.
This latest trailer shows a little bit more of Ryan Atwood Benjamin McKenzie as then-Detective, later to be Commissioner James Gordon and his goings about in Gotham as future villains Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), Oswald Cobblepott/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) look on menacingly.
The most intriguing part is the decidedly Joker-esque message that Gordon receives at the end of the trailer.
The series has promised to reveal a new character each episode who could, potentially, wind up being the scourge of Gotham, Big Bad himself, The Joker.
The series revolves around Gordon and his partner Harvey Bullock (played by Donal Logue) and their attempts to solve the highest profile murder case in Gotham history; that of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
Gotham begins airing on Fox in the US on September 23rd Australian time.
