The Guys Behind ‘Super Troopers’ Will Be Making A Sitcom

Consider your poop purple in colour and smelling of rainbow sherbet. The Broken Lizard gang – the creative troupe behind cult comedy favourites Super Troopers and Beerfest – are back in the saddle. Variety is reporting that the gang is in the midst of developing a comedy script for American cable network TBS. Litre of Cola’s for all in celebration!

The show, entitled Quality Time, is reportedly centred around slightly-older versions of the group as they “struggle through various challenges of adult misery and child rearing and attempt to hang on to the idiotic freedom of their irresponsible pre-parental lives.” It’s not exactly new territory – and is probably an absolute lock to fail the Bechdel Test – but at the very least the group’s comedic chops are well established.
Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske will serve as writers for the series. No word yet if Jay Chandrasekhar will return for the show, given his successful post-Troopers career as a director for film and TV.
Until then, we play the waiting game. To help pass the time, please bask in the glory of my own personal all-time favourite dick line in cinema history.

Canada, huh? Almost made it.
Tears. Every goddamned time, tears.
