You guys, the feels we are feeling right now are real and they are robust. Kesha has had a seriously devastating week, and we cannot imagine how difficult it’s been.
If you’ve missed this story so far, Kesha took her producer Dr. Luke to court, in order to break her contract and therefore no longer have to exclusively create music with him. Why? Because of two separate instances of sexual assault alleged against him. Devastating, right?
But somehow, it wasn’t enough: the judge’s decision ruled that her contract would be upheld. But fans and celebs alike are now rallying around the pop star – and the list now includes Taylor Swift.
T-Swift has given Kesha US$250,000 in order to support her “during this trying time”. One of Tay’s spokespeople said this to Billboard:
“In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time.”
Oh (wo-)MAN! Gals supporting gals in tough times, y’know? So so so so great.
Such a refreshing change from the stereotypical ‘girl hate’ scenarios we normally see out of Hollywood. *hugs everyone*
