Sydney Dude Hangs Up On Lotto Staffer Trying To Say He Won $16 Million

A Manly fella hung up on a phone call informing him he’d just won $16 million, and to be entirely honest, you should hang up on phone calls from strangers saying you’ve just won $16 million.

The thing is, the folks on the other end of the line were legitimately from Oz Lotto, and your disbelieving pal really did win a share of Tuesday’s $50 million jackpot.
As per The Sydney Morning Herald, the man said he’d been thinking about scooping up that very big sum prior to the call, but when the time came, he was stumped about the “strange” call.
It was only when he double-checked his numbers – which he picked on his intuition, a method that’s equally likely of winning as picking numbers on a completely random basis – that he realised said call was authentic.

When asked what he’d do with that sizeable windfall, he said he’d throw it in investments and live a “happy” life. Many would say if you’re living in Sydney’s northern beaches, you’re already on track for a pretty okay life, but hey.

One of the other two winners, a woman from Queensland, was so stoked on the situation that she reportedly screamed for a few minutes straight. That’s actually the second response you should employ when a stranger informs you of a multi-million dollar prize: a protracted vocal-shredding outburst.
