A 24-year-old man has died of a suspected overdose at the Strawberry Fields music festival in Tocumwal, in the southern Riverina area of New South Wales.
Per NSW Police reports, at about 12.45am Sunday, the unnamed 24-year-old man was conveyed to the festival’s medical tent.
“Medical staff were informed that the male had consumed multiple substances including GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate), MDMA and cocaine. Shortly after the man suffered a cardiac arrest and was treated by medical staff. At 2.02am, he was pronounced deceased.”
Officers from Murray River Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death at Strawberry Fields, and will prepare a report for the coroner.

During the high-visibility police operation, 137 drug detections were recorded with four people charged with drug supply.As part of a NSW Government trial, 13 people found in possession of prohibited drugs were dealt with by way of a Drug Criminal Infringement Notices (CINs) of up to $400.
A number of infringement notices were given out for other offences, including a number for possession of false identification.
