Boston’s ‘Straight Pride’ held its first parade this weekend and, well, you really have to laugh, don’t you?

The march, with Milo Yiannopoulos as the ‘grand marshal’, featured only 100-200 protesters. There also seemed to be a lot of confusion about when the protest was actually meant to start, and further reports indicate police were limiting the number of people in the parade.
Conversely, nearly 1000 counterprotesters showed up in retaliation.
“We’re here to show up in the face of hate with love and joy,” one counterprotester told CBS Boston. “We should celebrate our differences and celebrate the ways in which people from all backgrounds have contributed to this country.”

After about an hour of confusion, about 75 remaining paradegoers are trying to give speeches in city hall plaza. About 700 counterprotesters outside are drowning them out. Can’t hear anything. pic.twitter.com/uX4lyrOhQT

There have been multiple reports of counterprotestor arrests, with pepper spray and batons being used.
Massachusetts LGBTQ rights group MassEquality denounced the parade prior to its commencement.
“We absolutely reject the idea – prominently featured on the Parade organizers’ website — that straight people are oppressed.”
“Straight people’s rights are not diminished when society makes room for LGBTQ people. There is space at the table for all of us.”
Now, that’s the tea.
