As 2020 finally, finally, draws to a close, we’re looking towards one thing and one thing only: Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2021. Although we’ve all heard the good news that the parade will still go ahead, Mardi Gras will no doubt be different in 2021.
And while we might not all be able to descend on Sydney, we’d still never let our favourite time of year come and go without doing it right. So, we’ve teamed up with Absolut to spread love further and bring the celebration to regional towns across the eastern seaboard — that’s where you come in.
We’re creating a rainbow trail across some of Australia’s regional communities to kick off the celebrations and festivities leading up to the biggest LGBTQIA+ pride celebration in the country. That means we’re hunting for five people from five different towns to be featured as part of our
‘Show All Your Colours Tour’. To get involved, we want to hear about your experiences as well as what exactly makes your town and community so special, and why it should host an epic Absolut Pride Party in one of your iconic local venues.
We know that one in three members of our LGBTQIA+ community lives in a regional part of Australia. And with the parade looking so different in 2021, we want to bring the celebrations to you and help spread the love further by shining a light on some of your personal experiences.
We want you to be one of our storytellers. All you have to do is send us your name, tell us about the regional town you’re registering, and why you want to celebrate your community with one of our Pride Parties. Then, create a video sharing your own personal story about love, identity, or acceptance.
Next, our team will hit the road with the rainbow bottle to spread the love and celebrate — bringing decked out Absolut Pride Pubs to your home town, We’ll be filming the whole thing and can’t wait to share your story (and home town) right here and on all our socials. The cherry on top is if your story is featured, you will also find yourself in Sydney with one of your mates for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2021, being treated to a VIP experience at the parade. We’ll be covering flights, transfers, accommodation and, of course, drinks on the night.
