NSW Police Investigating Alleged Sexual Assault At Splendour In The Grass

New South Wales Police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman at the 2018 Splendour In The Grass festival, according to an update on law enforcement operations at the North Byron Parklands event.

It is alleged the woman was assaulted at around 11pm on Sunday night.

The announcement accompanied a broader update on police operations at the festival.

115 people were charged over 148 drug offences, including one 25-year-old man who was charged with supplying a prohibited drug after allegedly being found with 57 MDMA tablets.

A 42-year-old man is also facing an assault charge after allegedly kicking a security guard at the festival site.

Overall, the number of punters charged is down from the 2017 edition of the festival, where more than 142 people were charged.
