Social media overlord, Mark Zuckerberg, has vowed to “create a peaceful and safe environment” for Muslims on Facebook.
“As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities. Even if an attack isn’t against you today, in time attacks on freedom for anyone will hurt everyone,” he wrote in a post that’s fast going viral (31,000 shares in an hour and counting).
“As the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you.”
More than 1.5 billion people use FB every month, making it the most populous destination *anywhere* – online or IRL – so it’s a declaration that’s receiving much respect from the community.

The post comes a couple of days after presidential hopeful and certified douchelord Donald Trump suggested that the US implement a “total and complete” ban on Muslims entering the country.
While Zuck doesn’t address Trump specifically, it’s pretty clear who/what motivated his comments.
The birth of his daughter, Max, has obviously prompted a bit of self-reflection; just last week, the billionaire announced he and wife Priscilla would donate 99% of their share nest-egg to philanthropic causes on a global scale.
Just before his pro-Muslim post, Zuck used FB like a normal person for the very first time, posting this cute AF pic cuddling his daughter.
