Shots have reportedly been fired and several pedestrians have been hit during a police chase along Melbourne‘s Bourke Street.
Police are aware that a number of people have been injured in the CBD. The exact circumstances of the events are still being determined.

Witness Rainbow Vekios told the Herald Sun she saw a man doing burnouts and hanging out the window.
“The police came and he started speeding down Swanston Street. I saw one person getting CPR and another being treated.
“It’s all so hard to take in. It’s like something out of a movie. I’m very shaken up.”
It looks like a person may have been apprehended.

Police have closed off Bourke St between Williams and Swanston, and are advising people to avoid the area.

UPDATE: Police confirmed that one person has died during this incident, while the ABC reports that four people have been treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
