Rose McGowan Indicted By Grand Jury On Felony Count Of Cocaine Possession

Rose McGowan has reportedly been indicted on one felony count of cocaine possession in Loudoun County, Virginia, according to TMZ.

The Charmed alum’s trial date has been set for Tuesday, June 12, just one day after her indictment.

Her attorney has allegedly waived her appearance at the trial. If convicted, the 44-year-old could face up to 10 years in jail.

McGowan’s attorney, Jose Baez issued the following statement to TMZ:

“Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence. These charges would have never been brought if it weren’t for her activism as a voice for women everywhere. I assure you, this selective prosecution will be met with a strong defense.”

Back in January 2017, police allegedly found several small bags of cocaine in a wallet McGowan left on a flight at Washington Dulles International Airport.

She pled not guilty to the charge, claiming that she had reported the lost wallet to the airline shortly after landing. She previously stated that she believes the wallet was taken from her backpack while she was travelling.

McGowan, who was one of the first women to accuse film producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, referenced the disgraced mogul in a tweet about the arrest in October, believing that he played a role in the charges.

“Are they trying to silence me? This is a warrant out of my arrest in Virginia. What a load of HORSESHIT.”
