Charmed actress Rose McGowan has publicly spoken out in support of Evan Rachel Wood after she bravely came forward with allegations of abuse at the hands of her ex-partner Marilyn Manson.

McGowan, who was engaged to Manson between 1999 and 2001, took to social media on Tuesday morning to express her support and believe in Wood.

“I stand with Evan Rachel Wood and other brave women who have come forward. It takes years to recover from abuse and I send them strength on their journey to recovery. Let the truth be revealed. Let the healing begin,” she wrote.

In case you missed it, Evan Rachel Wood came out with a series of abuse allegations against Manson overnight. Although she’s voiced her story before, this is the first time she has explicitly named Manson as her abuser.

“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood wrote on Instagram.

“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

Following her bravery, at least four other women have come forward with similar allegations against the musician.

In addition to dating Marilyn Manson (real name Brian Hugh Warner), McGowan was also a huge champion of the #MeToo movement, being one of the earliest and loudest voices behind the movement.

Manson is yet to respond to the allegations, but we’ll be sure to update this story if and when he responds to the claims put forward by Evan Rachel Wood.  However, it’s worth noting that he has “categorically denied” similar allegations previously.

More to come.
