Weeks after a number of former partners spoke out against him, police in Los Angeles are investigating Marilyn Manson over allegations of domestic violence dating back a decade.

An unnamed woman reportedly approached authorities to report incidents that occurred between 2009 and 2011, when the singer resided in West Hollywood.

The nature of the allegations is unclear, and Lt John Adams of The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau declined to go into any detail.

In a statement to the press, Adams said only: “Our people are just in the very beginning stages of an investigation into this.”

Three weeks ago, Marilyn Manson, real name Brian Warner, was accused of sexual and physical abuse by his ex-partner, actress Evan Rachel Wood.

The 33-year-old, who went public with Manson at age 19, said: “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.”

Others, including filmmaker Love Bailey, actress Charlyne Yi and musician Chloe Black have also accused the star of varying types of abuse.

They join fellow accusers Sarah McNeilly, Ashley Lindsay Morgan, Ashley Walters, Brittany Leigh and Scarlett Kapella.

Since Wood came out, Marilyn Manson has been dropped by his agency and record label, and removed from a future episode of the TV series American Gods.

He has denied the accusations, calling them “horrible distortions of reality”.
