Victoria lockdown

All of regional Victoria will go into lockdown from 1pm today, Victoria Premier Dan Andrews announced.

The lockdown will begin today from 1pm until 11:59pm on Thursday, 2 September.

In regional Victoria, there will only be five reasons to leave your home. They are:
– To get food and supplies you need.
– To exercise for up to two hours no more than 5km from your home.
– For care or caregiving.
– For authorised work or education if you can’t do so from home.
– Or to get vaccinated at the nearest possible location.

Face masks will still be mandatory outdoors and indoors (anywhere that’s not at home).

The state recorded 61 locally acquired cases of COVID-19 overnight. 16 cases have been recorded in Shepparton, a regional Victoria town.
