Prophecy Fulfilled: Nike Gifts Michael J. Fox World’s First Self-Lacing Kicks

GTHTKJETHJEHTKJEWKJTHJKEHKTEWJHTWKJHET!
Nike has gone and made our dreams come true, by successfully creating the self-lacing Nike Mags made famous by legend Michael J. Fox in Back To The Future (ICYMI, it was Back To The Future Day yesterday, which is why your feeds is littered with this shit.)
BACK TO THE FUTURE:
IRL:
Bloody brilliant, no?
Nike’s very first delivery of Mags was to Mike himself, because *obviously* – and he was seriously stoked to be sliding his feet into history.

Here he is modelling them like Marty McFly, yo:
Better still, the awesome folk at Nike have pledged to donate the cash monies they make from the auction of the limited-editional, revolutionary kicks (i.e. FUCKLOADS) to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.

Speaking of the massive goal they’ve kicked in producing an ~iconic~ tech-focused wearable every human being would kill to rep, Nike had this to say:
“Almost 30 years ago, Nike was asked to collaborate on a movie that would feature scenes set in the futuristic world of 2015. The resulting Nike Mag reinvented the conventional lacing system, integrating it into an inimitable design that became an enduring beacon of popular culture.

“Today, Nike delivered a gift to Michael J. Fox introducing the innovation to the shoe’s first, and most celebrated, wearer.

This innovation advances what was coined the Nike Mag’s “power laces,” combining the archetype invention with digital technology. The result is an individually responsive system that senses the wearer’s motion to provide adaptive on-demand comfort and support.”
