Police Appeal For Help After Third Indecent Assault In Sydney’s Inner West

NSW Police are appealing to the public after a third woman was indecently assaulted along the popular Bay Run running track in Sydney‘s Inner West.

A man told police that he was walking a dog near Glover Street Sports ground, Lilyfield – which adjoins the Bay Run – around 6:20pm last Saturday night when a woman approached him, telling him she’d been indecently assaulted.

The woman left, but the man reported the incident. Police now believe it may be the third incident in the last few weeks involving the same man, and are appealing for the woman involved – as well as anyone else who may have been approached or assaulted in the same area – to come forward.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 20 to 30, about 180cm tall, with short, cropped hair and brown eyes, prominent front teeth, and tattoos on his right shoulder and arm.

A public appeal was made after the first two incidences, but no arrests have been made. On Wednesday 31st January, a man exposed himself to a woman on Glover Street, and two days later, a woman reported that she’d been intimidated by a man – suspected to be the same person – near the Leichhardt Rowing Club.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers by either calling 1800 333 000 or heading online.
