Play ‘Spot The Reference’ With This Artist’s Impression Of ‘STRAYA

Produced in association with Officeworks.

You know Australia? That country whose face you are most likely sitting on at this very moment? Well, we asked the talented illustrator-come-cartographer James Gulliver Hancock to sit down and create its likeness.

Considering maps are usually an incredibly snoozy, yet informative, kind of affair we asked that James focus on the pop-cultural landmarks that make this gr8 country what it is. Sure, you’ll all have your own unique points of references but, for instance, we can ALL agree that the lighthouse from Round the Twist is one of Australia’s most iconic and treasured locations.

You can see the finished work, and James talking about making it, down under:

Just F your I, the Officeworks products kindly supplied and featured throughout include the Mira desk lamp, Sharpie, pencils, sketch pad, paper, pad, moleskin and the linen pencil case.

Cheers James
