Daniel Craig Burns Bridges, Trashes James Bond On ‘Spectre’ Press Tour

It has long been hinted that Spectre will be Daniel Craig‘s James Bond film, and the press tour has all-but guaranteed that, with the actor searching his sharp suit for fucks to give, finding none, and giving hilarious quote after hilarious quote.
Earlier this month, Craig sent publicists for the $300 million movie into a state of near-meltdown when he told The Guardian that he’d rather slash his wrists than reprise the role of Bond, and that if he did another movie in the series, “it would only be for the money.”
When asked who should take over in the role when he bows out, he replied: “Look, I don’t give a fuck.”
The actor has burned further bridges this week in an interview with Red Bull‘s Red Bulletin, in an interview titled ‘Daniel Craig Tells Us What He Really Thinks Of Bond’. (Spoiler alert: not a great deal).
The interview is full of exchanges like the below:
THE RED BULLETIN: What could we learn from James Bond that would help us in our day-to-day lives?

DANIEL CRAIG: [Thinks for a short while.] Nothing.
When asked about Bond’s way with women, Craig replied “let’s not forget he’s actually a misogynist. A lot of women are drawn to him chiefly because he embodies a certain kind of danger and never sticks around for too long.”
After this, when asked if he is the kind of guy who sticks around, Craig replied “well, I’ve been married for four years” and left it at that.
Remaining on the subject, the interviewer asked about what it was like for Bond to succumb to “the charms of an older woman” in Spectre, he snapped back:
“I think you mean the charms of a woman his own age. We’re talking about Monica Bellucci, for heaven’s sake. When someone like that wants to be a Bond girl, you just count yourself lucky!”
Asked if he considers Bond to be a role model, Craig replied: “My own role models are people who have a moral compass. People who have the courage of their convictions: great journalists, writers, artists … from Picasso to Francis Bacon.”
During another stop on the Spectre press tour, Craig shut down a reporter who asked him to do his signature “pout”, saying he had no idea what she was talking about, and eventually telling her “I think you need to move on.”
Spectre opens on Thursday November 12 in Australia; may Daniel Craig’s media appearances never end.
