NY Paper Slams Hypocrite Pollies Who Support Guns, But Mourn Shootings

While this tends to happen after every shooting, this time seems a little different. Mainly because of the New York Daily News‘ front page for tomorrow, which they tweeted in advance of print.

It’s states in bold, impactive letters, ‘GOD ISN’T FIXING THIS‘. 

It’s clearly hoping to start commentary on firearm law reform by pointing out just how many American pollies are willing to pray over the consequences (or say they are to invoke mass feelings of empathy), but make no tangible movements to stop tragedies like this happening in the future.

It is possibly the most sane convo-starter we’ve seen yet, but needless to say, Christian red-staters (yeah, *those* ones that you always see on the news but still can’t quite believe they exist) are entirely unhappy with the NYDN’s ‘prayer-shaming’:

But it has to be said that the goal of this cover was clearly not to slam Christianity, or God, or organised religion, or faith. They’re simply saying that we have the tools and ability here on Earth to fix the problem – maybe we should take that opportunity, rather than ask the big man in sky when we can do it ourselves, ya know? 

Pretty fuckin’ simple.
