No Biggie, But A North Shore Street Was Conquered By Hell This Morning

Good god.

A street in Sydney’s Neutral Bay was essentially turned into the gates of Hell this morning, after a piece of road works machinery went ahead and cut straight through a gas pipeline.

The blaze occurred a little after 7am, when crews accidentally hit the line on Aubin St. Flames quickly engulfed the machinery, and footage of the resulting blaze is enough to make you repent for fear of eternal damnation.

Six emergency crews attended to the blaze, which was only brought under control around two hours after it first sparked up. The wreckage of the vehicle is reportedly still smouldering in the street.

It is not believed anyone was injured during the incident, but several homes in the immediate vicinity were evacuated. As if you wouldn’t want to bolt after seeing that on your front porch.

A large cordon remains in place around the area, with drivers advised to seek other routes. Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances behind the blaze.
