Yesterday we interviewed Nick Johnson, who is currently in Sydney in order to become the first person to officially catch every Pokémon available in the ‘Pokémon Go‘ Pokédex.
And fuck yeah – the bloke did it!
(Cool sidenote: Nick’s dog’s name is Eevee.)
Nick was the first person to catch 142 Pokémon (which he credits to ‘lots of walking’), but unfortunately there was 4 that were continent-specific – Tauros (North America; Nick is from Brooklyn, NY so this was included in his OG 142), Mr. Mime (Europe), Farfetch’d (Asia) and Kangaskhan (Australia/New Zealand).
So, nice people that they are, Expedia & Marriott decided to sponsor Nick to fly around the world in order to truly catch ’em all. He was flown to Paris to catch Mr. Mime, Hong Kong to catch Farfetch’d, and Sydney to catch Kangaskhan.
And catch ’em all, he did. Nick tweeted this morning that he had officially done it – he caught Kangaskhan and now his Pokécup runneth over with Pocket Monsters.
