New Macbook Pro on the Market: 2nd Generation Ipad to Come

There’s an illusive warehouse at Apple headquarters filled with ready-to-go upgrades – at least that’s what it would seem like. Just when our palates were moistened by the avant-garde ipad – which was essentially a large iphone, with seemingly less processing ability – Apple have foreseeably released the upgrade. Enter the the NEW Ipad. Slimmer, lighter, shinier etc etc.

The mission statement from Apple.

“The iPad functional objective was to make the product as invisible as possible, a simple, elegant stage for the real important actors: The applications.”

An astute way of saying “If you’re chasing CPU with any fidelity – don’t buy this.”

This new release is part of an Apple double-whammy this week after the announcement of the new Macbook Pro.

Now this, I will go into battle for. In my experience as an Apple user – and indeed a Macbook Pro user – I’m pretty darn excited about this release. Each time a fresh MBP comes on the market it reiterates my resolution to never return to a PC.

So. The biggest “hook” for this new beast is something the good people at Apple are labeling “Thunderbolt” – codename Lightspeed.

“Thunderbolt is a revolutionary I/O technology that supports high-resolution displays and high-performance data devices through a single, compact port. It sets new standards for speed, flexibility, and simplicity.”

Pretty neat.

Other notable additions are firewire 800, mic-in, audio-out, SDXC camera card slot. It would appear that Apple are finding new “slimmer” ways to phase out the G5’s.

Audio/film dudes can commence frothing now.
