Looks Like Season 2 Of ’13 Reasons’ Isn’t Going To Be What You’d Expect

We know there’s definitely going to be a second season of Netflix‘s controversial smash-hit ‘13 Reasons Why‘, but there’s been – not unreasonably – some confusion over how exactly you can make a second season of a show whose main character dies in the last episode.
But now we’ve got some clues. Showrunner Brian Yorkey has given the audience at the 13 Reasons Why FYC panel in Los Angeles a little hint as to what to expect.

“Hannah told her version of the events, but there are at least 12 kids who have another version of those events that we actually haven’t really heard from yet.

“I don’t think Hannah told any untruths on her tape. She reclaimed her narrative, which had really been taken from her.”
So… does this mean we’re starting again, but from another perspective? That could make for some pretty interesting viewing.
As for how they’re approaching this new season, co-star Dylan Minnette is being pragmatic:
“I just want us all to do the same as this year. Just go in assuming that nobody is going to watch it, everyone’s going to hate it, and try to make the best thing possible.”
The 13-episode second season is coming to Netflix in 2018.
