A Japanese man has set a new standard for stupidity, playing with a match and setting his apartment complex ablaze while livestreaming on the Twitch service.
The problem starts at around the 4.50 mark in the below video, when the man, reportedly named Ushiro, sets a piece of paper alight with a match, and dumps it into a bin behind him, filled with flammable material.
The man attempts to douse the flames with a small water bottle, then when that doesn’t work, carries the flaming bin bag to the side of the room while he gets more water.
Giving up, he is eventually seen leaving the room and escapes the blaze.
He was unhurt, but per reports in Huffington Post UK, the fire destroyed his apartment and others in the complex, and one woman’s body was pulled from the remains of the building.
