Libs Slip Behind In Poll For The First Time Since Turnbull Knifed Tony

Probably a rough morning for Malcolm Turnbull.
Today’s Newspoll represents the first time that the Coalition have fallen behind Labor on a two-party preferred basis since he kicked Tony Abbott to the kerb and became Prime Minister.
The poll places Labor ahead 51-49, and comes in the wake of polling which suggests that voters aren’t too keen on Turnbull’s proposals about tax, with only 19 percent of voters keen on his idea to give income tax powers to the states.
Turnbull’s got a bit of a rep now for being a waffler who can talk big game but rarely has anything concrete to back it up. He better do something about it – seeing as he himself used bad Newspolls as justification for dropping Tones.
It’s not all sunshine and daisies for Shorten: he still lags behind as preferred PM, albeit only by six points to Turnbull’s rating. This election is gonna be a wild ride.
