The Liberal staffer who was sacked for wanking over a female politician’s desk in Parliament House, has filed a police report over the incident.
According to the ABC, ACT police received a report from the Liberal staffer several weeks ago. However, multiple sources told the ABC that the staffer does not want the issue in the media.
Last month, leaked photos of videos of male staffers exposing themselves or wanking in different parts of Parliament House were exposed by Ten News First. The anonymous “Canberra Insider” who leaked the footage also made further allegations about the widespread use of the prayer room in Parliament House, which was also used as a so-called “sex room.”
Four men have been exposed as being involved, these men routinely shared photos of videos of these acts amongst themselves on Facebook Messenger spanning at least two years.
MPs and friends of the sacked staffer said that leaking the explicit material was image-based abuse, or what’s more commonly known as revenge porn.
The insider has denied the incident was revenge porn and said that their only motivation was to share what they knew about the workplace culture at Parliament House.
“I don’t think they’ve broken any laws – but morally, they’re bankrupt,” the Canberra insider told 10 News First.
“It’s a culture of men who think they can do whatever they want.”
This comes after Australia has been rocked by a number of high-profile sexual assault/rape allegations, including the alleged rape of Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins inside Parliament House. Three more women have also come out and made sexual harassment allegations against the same former Liberal staffer.
