Kevin Spacey Posted An Insanely Weird Video Defending Himself Amid Charges

Kevin Spacey has used his Christmas break to do what I can only describe as the most insane thing imaginable: release a video in which he, ostensibly acting as his House of Cards actor Frank Underwood, delivers a monologue which seems… well, somewhat relevant to his current situation.

In the video, Spacey appears as Underwood, delivering one of his famous fourth-wall-breaking monologues from the show, but it can very much be taken as a not-so-veiled piece about the allegations of sexual misconduct and assault against him – including fresh charges which have just been laid against him.

“We’re not done no matter what anyone says. I know what you want — you want me back,” he says at the beginning of the video.

Of course, some believed everything and have just been waiting with bated breath to hear me confess it all. They’re just dying to have me declare that everything said is true and that I got what I deserve.

Wouldn’t that be easy? If it was all so simple? Only you and I both know it’s never that simple — not in politics and not in life. But you wouldn’t believe the worst without evidence would you? You wouldn’t rush to judgement without facts, would you? Did you? No, not you, you’re smarter than that.

Allow me to say one thing: this is kind of fucking insane, dude!

A Massachusetts prosecutor announced on Tuesday that Spacey will face court in January over allegations that he stuck his hand down the pants of the then 18-year-old son of former news anchor Heather Unruh back in 2016.

“Despite all the poppycock, the animosity, the headlines, the impeachment without a trial. Despite even my own death, I feel surprisingly good and my confidence grows each day that soon enough you will know the full truth,” Spacey goes on to say in the video.

Look, I’m no PR expert. But I reckon that doing a creepy piece-to-camera to announce your innocence of sexual assault – in the character of your cancelled murderous president – is a bad idea. But he’s done it. I’ll let the top YouTube comment speak for us all:
