HBO Releases Trailer For Jay Z’s Six Hour ‘Picasso Baby’ Performance

After singing Picasso Baby for six hours at a New York art gallery in a stunt that mirrored The National, but traded bleak depression and sorrow for a ridiculous party, HBO are set to air the official film of Jay Z’s performance.

The fashionably sans hyphen artist attracted swarms of attention as well as Judd Apatow, Lena Dunham‘s mum, Marina Ambramovic and trolling strangers joining in on the frivolity. Oh, the hijinks of performing one song ad nauseum.

Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film, will air on HBO this Friday, directly after Jay Z’s interview on Real Time with Bill Maher. The trailer, below, muses deeply about rap and art, “Rap is thinking out loud, and you’re putting your fears and your
vulnerabilities and your insecurities to music. Concerts are pretty much performance art, and a smaller venue
is a bit more intimate, so you feel the energy of the people.”
