YOU GUYS, a Harry Potter scavenger hunt is coming to Melbourne this month! Like a legitimate one, not something that could land its boss in legal woes.
In case you’ve somehow missed it: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has set up shop at the Princess Theatre, causing a ripple effect of good Harry Potter content across Melbourne.
On December 15, the city will host a Magical Christmas Quest – a goddamn city-wide scavenger hunt.
In your best Chrissy gear / robes, scores of muggles will fly (not really) to six locations across Melbourne, solving mysterious riddles and diving into missions at each stop. You don’t have to be in a team either… if you’re a Slytherin who firmly stands by the, “There’s no I in Team” slogan. Once, and only once, you have completed all activities at all locations, look for the elves at Melbourne Town Hall to have your name chucked into the Goblet– random prize draw.
One winner will cop a VIP Harry Potter and the Cursed Child experience, which includes two tickets to the show (parts 1 and 2), with exclusive backstage access, one nights’ accommodation, and a pre-show dinner for two at Melbourne’s Hotel for the Arts at Sofitel Melbourne, and a $500 Myer shopping gift voucher. Bloody hell, that’s a lot.
But also, based on that prize – I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the riddles and all that are hard. Ten second-prize winners will cop $100 Gift Finder vouchers, which is still a solid prize.
