Ferguson Police Spokesman Suspended For Calling Michael Brown Memorial ‘Trash’

Officials in Ferguson, Missouri have suspended police public relations officer Tim Zoll after he described a memorial to slain black teenager Michael Brown as ‘a pile of trash.’

Zoll, who made the comment to the press after a car allegedly destroyed the makeshift memorial of cards, flowers, candles and teddy bears deliberately overnight, initially denied this statement but was later disciplined by his department.

“…a pile of trash in the middle of the street? The Washington Post is making a call over this?”

Michael Brown was shot and killed by officer Darren Wilson, which sparked riots throughout the suburb, with the ensuing legal proceedings capturing international attention. A grand jury voted not to indict Wilson in November.
