Getting the first solo date with The Bachelorette is a poisoned chalice, with getting to be the first to schmooze Sophie Monk also coming with super intense scrutiny from viewers, desperate for someone to start taking down a peg.
Unfortunately for this season’s first date winner Jarrod, this scrutiny has come in tsunami-like form, with his borderline creepy obsession over Sophie and constant whinging around the other boys like a petulant child, earning him Stage Five Clinger status in the eyes of fans.
