The Sydney private school student who was alleged to have raped a 15-year-old while she was passed out at a party as his friend filmed it has been charged with aggravated sexual assault.
His friend, who was also aged 15, stood before the Glebe Children’s Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to three charges of making and distributing footage of the attack. The assault reportedly took place at a party in Bellevue Hill.
Teachers at Cranbrook School – where the student attended – contacted police after they learned that footage of the assault was allegedly being shared by up to 50 teenagers. It is believed that a parent also became aware due to the dissemination of the video on social media.
Parents of students at Cranbrook have received an email from the school confirming a “serious incident”.
“We as a school always place the highest priority upon the wellbeing of our students and students in other schools,” it reads, according to the Daily Telegraph.
