Elite Syd School Student Accused Of Raping 15 Y.O. While Friend Filmed It

Content warning: this post discusses sexual assault.

A teenage boy from an elite private school in Sydney allegedly raped a teenage girl at house party while one of his friends filmed the assault on his mobile phone.
Teachers at The Cranbrook School are understood to have alerted police based on conversations they overheard between students. It is believed the footage in question was exchanged between up to 50 students. The alleged victim was unaware she had been assaulted until she herself saw the footage on social media.
It is believed that the alleged victim was not aware of the assault because she was unconscious due to alcohol consumption. The attack is alleged to have taken place on March 4th in Bellevue Hill.
A 15-year-old appeared before the Children’s Court in Glebe yesterday charged with filming the sexual assault and posting it. The specific charges – which he pled not guilty to – were filming a young person committing a sexual act on another young person without their consent, producing child abuse material on his mobile phone and distributing that material on social media.
He did however agree to the conditions of an AVO, which means he cannot approach the victim, nor her school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
It is understood that the attacker is voluntarily meeting with detectives today. Though he reportedly recently moved to The Cranbrook School, he is no longer a student there.
