EB Games Responds: “The Sale Signs Will Be Back And More Populous Than Ever”

ICYMI, the Australian community [no, it’s not too broad a statement] has been in a state of panic ever since a concerned citizen named Pat took a photo of an EB Games store, believed to be in the Sydney suburb of Rhodes, completely devoid of sale signs.

Hey guys, I went past one of your stores today and noticed there wasn’t 15,542 SALE signs, is something wrong? this is unsettling.

If you’ve ever walked past, or stepped inside, an EB store, you’ll know that goes against the natural order of things ON ALL LEVELS.

Here’s what an EB store should look like:

Pat posted the photo to the EB Games Australia’s Facebook page to ask what the fuck was up, at which point reams more people declared their local EB Games store to be similarly barren.

Reported locations of disturbingly clean stores included: Townsville, Mt. Gravatt, Browns Plains, Rockhampton Stocklands, Maroochydoore Centre.

The outcry was so great that EB Games Australia had no choice to respond, which they did via FB:

Only there were so many comments on the post [3,000 and counting, plus 30,000 odd likes] that it got buried in conversations about everything from the company’s financial state [WHY ELSE WOULD THEY CANCEL THE WORLD’S BIGGEST EVER SALE?!?!?!] to concerns that whoever had taken down all the sale posters would likely be fired.
P.TV reached out to EB Games to get a clearer picture on things and received the following statement from Jane Buckle, EB Games Australia’s Community Manager:

“It’s true that our Biggest Sale Ever is MIA and we thank people for expressing their worry. All we can do is offer some wise words: sometimes good things come to end. Like that batch of cookie dough we consumed last night. Or our childhood dream of unicorns being real. Our Biggest Sale Ever is sadly over for now, but it will be back bigger than ever next year. Or will it? (Yes, yes it will)”

THEY NEARLY GOT US AT THE END, THOSE JOKE-CRACKING S.O.B.S.
So there you have it, Australia: rest easy knowing that the sale signs WILL be back and more populous than ever some time in the very near future.
