Drake has well and truly earned that Champagne Papi moniker, as a bunch of Miami grocery shoppers can attest.
Not satisfied with his recent donations to a Miami high school and local uni student Destiny James (he gave the school US$25,000 and new uniforms, and put US$50,000 towards James’ tuition), ya boy Drake surprised everyone at Miami grocery store the Sabor Tropical Supermarket by paying for their shopping.
To the tune of $64,000 (US$50,000).
E! Online reports that the rapper appeared in the grocery store with a megaphone to announce he’d he spotting everyone their groceries, and posts on Instagram say that he went around encouraging people to get as much as they wanted.
Guille Deza, a shopper who was there during the spree, told E! News:
No one knew he was coming at all, we just came to do groceries. Cameras were being set up so we were all wondering what was to happen.
He also said that Drake was “nice“, and that “he took photos with everyone who asked and shook hands. He helped people find what they were looking for and encouraged all—to buy everything they want and to fill their carts.”

Those cameras would suggest, as many of the shoppers suspected, that the stunts will be featured in Drake’s upcoming ‘God’s Plan‘ film clip – but when you’ve got a pop star paying for your week’s worth of snacks, is the motivation behind it super important?
Drake also reportedly donated US$50,000 to Miami’s Lotus House Women’s Shelter. When his reps were contacted, they told Billboard “no comment“. What a class act this bloke is. Onya, Aubrey.
