You might not read it on a boat. But if you do happen to read it with a goat, then chances are you’ll be able to help raise a bit of dough for other animals in need of forever homes.

“In celebration of the book’s publication, Random House Children’s Books and Dr. Seuss Enterprises are pleased to announce a social media campaign that will support the work of the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to help animals in need across the country.”
“The social campaign on behalf of What Pet Should I Get? celebrates Ted [Geisel]’s love for animals, and calls for all pet owners nationwide to share a photo of their pets, tagging it with the #whatpet campaign hashtag. For every photo shared on Twitter or Instagram with #whatpet, Random House Children’s Books and Dr. Seuss Enterprises will donate one dollar to the ASPCA, up to the first 15,000 photos.”
And because this is the internet, and photos of tiny animals is its core non-pornographic function, you can already bask in the majesty of people’s uploads.
