This is a question for one Mr. Donald Trump, Republican candidate to lead the Free World: at any point – ANY POINT AT ALL – during the car-crash interview in which you supported tracking Muslim Americans by giving them “a special form of identification that noted their religion” did you stop to think, “Gee, I sound an awful lot like that crazy fucking asshole HITLER.”
No? Didn’t think so, but thought we’d check anyway.
The Trump has been spouting fascist drivel for months now but, in a new interview with Yahoo, he’s crossed the line into actual Nazism.
He supported very obviously *insane* ideas like tracking Muslims in the US by “registering [them] in a database” or making them carry some sort of ID that notes their religion – HEYYYYYY HITLER – or increased surveillance of mosques.
“We’re going to have to do things that we never did before,” he said. “And some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule. And certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy. And so we’re going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago*.”
*Amendment: “frankly unthinkable ever.”
“We’re going to have to — we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely,” he said. “We’re going to have to look at the mosques. We’re going to have to look very, very carefully.”
