DMX’s Still On Life Support After Suffering A Heart Attack Caused By An Apparent Drug Overdose

Rapper DMX suffered a heart attack after an apparent drug overdose and is reportedly still on life support, despite his attorney saying he was breathing on his own.

In an interview with PIX11 News, DMX’s attorney Murray Richman said that the rapper was “taken off the life support system and is breathing on his own.”

“Earl Simmons (DMX) in my opinion is one of the great poets of our time. And what he had to say if people bothered to listen and they could overcome their hostility to rap, they could learn a great deal,” Richman added.

However, that information was found to be incorrect as Richman later told Rolling Stone that he was given the “wrong information” and that DMX is still on life support.

On Saturday, DMX suffered a heart attack in his home and was then rushed to hospital in White Plains, New York.

According to TMZ, paramedics tried resuscitating him for 30 minutes, and during that time he was deprived of oxygen which has severely impacted his brain.

“It’s not looking good,” one family source said.

Many fans and other celebrities have shared their support on social media, like T.I, Missy Elliott and Ja Rule.

“Shake back Big Bro. We made plans Maaaan We got shit to do!!!” TI wrote.

“We laughed so hard about how far we’ve made it in life this night. I appreciate you so much for pulling up & and checking on a ni**a. So now I’m tellin’ you like you told me…This too shall pass… #PrayersUpForDMX.”

DMX has battled substance abuse for years, and has been to rehab several times. Most recently, he checked into a rehab facility in October 2019.

At the time, TMZ were told that he hadn’t relapsed but checked himself into rehab for fear he might do it again.
