DAMN GOOD COFFEE: David Lynch Is Curating His Own Weird Music Festival

Looks like the Twin Peaks reboot isn’t all thats on maestro of the weird David Lynch‘s mind. The director is also creating a two-day festival to be held in Los Angeles, called The Festival of Disruption. Sounds less ‘weird festival’ and more ‘iPhone announcement keynote’, but hey: you do do.

There’s some solid acts playing, though.  St. Vincent, Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters, Twin Peaks soundtrack composer Angelo Badalamenti, Questlove, Xiu Xiu and Sky Ferreira are all slated to appear. Ferreira also appears in the Twin Peaks reboot, btw.
In between the music acts, you can watch talks from disruptive speakers like Mel Brooks, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, and architect Frank Gehry. There’s also stacks of experimental film and photography exhibits too.
The money raised from the festival goes to the David Lynch Foundation, which is Lynch’s transcendental meditation group who reach out to at-risk communities to teach ’em about the healing power of meditation… or something like that.
Anyway, if you’re in the area, it’s in Los Angeles from October 8 – 9. Think calming thoughts now. Not Eraserhead.
