Courier Mail Runs ‘Bride And Seek’ Front Page As Man To Be Charged With Murder of Stephanie Scott

Harrowing reports have come in this morning regarding the disappearance of a 26-year-old Leeton high school teacher and bride-to-be Stephanie Scott, as NSW police reported the arrest of a 24-year-old man, Vincent Stanford, who is expected to be charged with her murder.

Scott was last seen on Sunday April 5 at her workplace – Leeton High School – where she was reportedly preparing lessons for a replacement teacher who would be working during Scott’s honeymoon the following week. Scott was set to be married to her partner of five years on Saturday.
SMH reports that Stanford, understood to be a cleaner at Leeton High School, was arrested at his home last night at 7:30 PM after Police reportedly found blood in his car.
Fairfax reports Stephanie Scott’s sister Robyn saying, “I spoke to her on that Saturday night, and she was over the moon, she was so excited. She had been to Griffith that day shopping and getting ready for the honeymoon,” Robyn said.
A spokesperson for NSW police have told Fairfax that Stephanie Scott’s body and car are yet to be found, and are urging the public to contact police if they have seen Scott’s car—a red Mazda 3, registration BZ-19-CD—or if they have seen a white Toyota Hilux space-cab 2WD in Leeton or the surrounding areas since Sunday.
Today, News Corp’s Courier Mail ran this as their tasteless front page. Stay classy.
Our thoughts are with the family, friends, students and colleagues of Stephanie Scott.
