Cop A 360º Tour Of The Opera House From Your Lounge Room With Google

The Sydney Opera House is one of our most enduring and famous venues, and an architectural icon the world over. There have been some massive, massive gigs staged there, and it’s woven deeply into the cultural fabric of both Sydney and Australia.

Now ya can go back and live some of the high points. The Opera House has partnered with the Google Cultural Institute to preserve some of the cooler assets of the venue all digital-like – and the results are pretty damn cool.
There’s a heap of cool stuff here – from records and visuals from the construction of the building, through to full 360º StreetView style tours of the venue. You can even start outside, to simulate the extremely real and visceral experience of walking through Opera Bar on a sunny arvoIt’s a pretty great and comprehensive project.
There’s also a great collection of previous performances there to watch, if you’ve got serious FOMO for some gigs that you maybe shoulda been at.
The Google Cultural Institute’s offerings are worth a gander generally too, by the way. They’ve got some really cool shit from museums, national parks and monuments all over the world.
