We’re about as far away from the darkest timeline as you could ever dream of being right now. With yesterday’s huge revelation that much beloved TV series Community had been saved from total extinction by Yahoo‘s new streaming platform, now comes the even bigger news that the show’s owners – that being Sony Pictures Television – are not even bothering to hide their enthusiasm to extend the show even further into a full-blown full-length feature film, fulfilling the #sixseasonsandamovie prophecy that began as a hilariously unattainable throwaway gag, but grew into the fandom’s mantra.

A film version would likely be a much more enticing prospect for departed or part time cast members like Chevy Chase and Donald Glover, and bringing the entire study group together on the big screen and letting one of the show’s trademark high concept episodes play out over a feature length has to be more than enough to get even passing fans frothing over just a little bit.
