A Victorian Labor MP is reportedly being questioned by police after witnesses allege he destroyed a door in a Canberra hotel while claiming his luggage was being “illegally held.”
Multiple sources including the Sydney Morning Herald have identified the MP in question as Will Fowles, who was elected to represent the seat of Burwood last year.
Reports of the alleged incident first surfaced thanks to a series of tweets from a witness who posted a photo of a door which, by any objective standard, seems to have had the shit kicked out of it.
So here’s the latest. A politician (I don’t know who) has gone into a rage after discovering he couldn’t access his luggage. Police say he’s now calmed down but is facing charges. pic.twitter.com/VRKu5p2s2t

According to The Australian, the man was heard saying “I’m a member of parliament, I’m a member of parliament,” to a hotel receptionist.
