Today is Father’s Day. With any luck, this isn’t the first you’ve heard about it.
It’s also the tenth anniversary of Steve Irwin’s death, which means Australia has two distinct reasons to stop and reflect on the literally legendary blokes who’ve helped shaped this country.
Of course, for Bindi Irwin, those reasons are one and the same.
A decade after the Crocodile Hunter was killed in that tragic one-in-a-million accident, Irwin posted a succinct message on Instagram honouring her dad.
“You’ll be my hero for my entire existence,” she writes. “I love you more than words can describe.”
Terri Irwin also took the opportunity to post a message, delivering some simple, solid and heartfelt advice:
