Benicio Del Toro Will Scare The Shit Out Of You In ‘Escobar: Paradise Lost’ Trailer

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Not only is Benicio Del Toro one of the most criminally underrated actors currently walking the planet, but he also just so happens to be one of the most stylish. Even when he’s made up to look like seven shades of shit, he still comes out smouldering.

The first trailer for the particularly tense-looking Escobar: Paradise Lost does nothing but add evidence to that theory.
Written and directed by Italian filmmaker Andrea Di Stefano, Paradise Lost centres around infamous and legendary Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (Del Toro) and a young Canadian man (played by JLaw‘s BFF Josh Hutcherson) whose heart leads him to getting caught up with a particularly nasty crowd.
The film has already been getting some very positive buzz from its first screenings at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, with Del Toro’s menacing portrayal of Escobar getting singled out in particular.
The film’s theatrical release is set for late November in the US, just in time for Oscars season to start heating right up.
Expect any Australian theatrical release to be a) Confined mainly to niche, arthouse cinemas, and b) To not happen anytime before next March due to reasons.
