Ben Cousins Hospitalised After Being Found ‘Incoherent’ On Busy WA Highway

Former AFL star Ben Cousins has been hospitalised after he was found ‘trying to direct traffic’ on major highway in Western Australia at around 7:30pm last night.
Cousins, who has a long and heavily-documented history of drug and alcohol abuse, was found on Canning Highway in Perth, incoherent and disrupting traffic.
He allegedly had been hanging out with a group of window washers for three hours, before he ran on to the road and started ‘directing’ traffic. One of the window washers said he was “on his own planet”:
“We could not understand him so we were like, ‘We can’t understand you, mate … you’re causing us bad business.’”
Another witness said he tried to jump onto the back of a motorcycle:

“We were standing right there and one metre in front of us a red motorbike stopped and he ripped him off. He [the motorcyclist] jumped back on his bike and took off.

He was trying to hitchhike. The bike went down and he ran into the bushes here. He was fried.”
Another witness said he was ‘a bit of a mess’:
“He looked like a bit of a mess. His jeans were riding really low and he was running and sweating heaps.”
Police chased the former footballer into nearby bushland, and then took him to Fiona Stanley Hospital.
