Aussie Nutritionist Criticised For ‘Stop Being A Fat Bitch’ Diet Plan

Australian nutritionist Lola Berry is catching some serious heat right now thanks to her newly-published four-week weight loss plan, which goes by the slightly controversial title of Stop Being A Fat Bitch.

When she launched the program via her Facebook, Berry explained that “Stop Being A Fat Bitch” is a weight-loss mantra that she frequently used, for herself saying:

“[It’s] something I used to say to myself over and over… this program is not just about the food plan and recipes, it’s also about changing your mindset to achieve your health goals!! Can’t wait to hear what you think!!”

Berry did not have to wait long to find out what people thought, with angry fans and social media users accusing her of bullying and name-calling and laying into her for her choice of title.

“How about we teach never to call yourself “a fat bitch” – that’d be first mindset lesson in weight loss,” wrote one outraged Facebook user.

“That’s a horrible degrading title, I honestly thought you had more integrity than that. This is a career killer,” said another, while a commenter claiming to be a psychotherapist called the title “inappropriate and demeaning.”

Screengrab via Facebook

In response to the growing backlash, Berry posted a screengrab of the first two pages of the diet plan, saying that the “fat bitch” in the title it something that comes from her “internal dialogue”, and her sense of feeling pressured to be “perfect.”

In an accompanying comment, she added:

“Reading some of your comments and wanted to share with you guys the first 2 pages of this 4 week plan… The whole point of the title is to display how bad self talk IS and the importance of a positive mindset and self love. Thank you for your honest feedback my intention isn’t to offend anybody my intention is to make a positive change. xo”

Berry later apologised to those she had offended and upset, saying “I can see how [the title] is too strong” and asking her fans what they would like a book about changing your mindset to realise your health goals to be called.

She has not yet announced any plans to change the title.
