Aussie Crim Who Escaped Bali’s Kerobokan Taunts Cops By Rapping On Facebook

I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I’m an expert on escaping from jail. I have never escaped from jail. Hell, I’ve never been incarcerated. If you wanted to come to someone for advice on the ins and outs of a prison breakout, I would not be the guy to go to.
There’s one thing I am pretty certain about: if you’re a fugitive, you probably want to keep a low profile. It seems like the key to remaining uncaptured by the authorities would be dropping off the map to the fullest extent you can. This would include not, say, posting written word raps about your exploits and trying to promote a clearly self-made public Facebook fan page.
Shaun Davidson, at-large crim and deeply loose bloke from Perth, was sentenced to a year in Bali‘s Kerobokan Prison for using a mate’s passport to attempt to skip out on drug charges he was facing in Australia. Davidson only had two and a half months left to serve on his one-year sentence but still saw fit to make an exit from the complex with three other crims (two of which have since been caught, with the other still at large).
Very generously, Davidson has been documenting his Carmen Sandiego-esque (and nearly definitely fake) adventures around the globe on Facebook. Authorities reckon he is most likely hiding out in Thailand, but it sure seems like he’s trying to give the impression that he is not, using a Facebook page that allegedly belongs to him to check in to places like Dubai, Germany and Amsterdam.
He’s not letting being at large stop him from being creative either, posting something that approximates a written word rap about his exploits to the same Facebook page (please pretend I wrote ‘(sic)‘ after all the typos):
“I’m a real life action movie star nah im just normal b there aint noway a penetentry is ever holding me from oz to bali amsterdam to germany you better believe it when i say my life is no lie im sippn on this cocktail on the beaches of dubai.”

He’s also started asking people to like and share a Facebook page called “Fans Of Shaun Rageone Davidson – Australian escapee“. While we can’t say conclusively, it very much looks like he’s made the page himself and, frankly, I salute his confidence:

Mate, you are doing crime wrong.
